Following is a choice of her students’ writing about Black Lives Matter. She mentioned she learns from them as they learn from her. I am impressed by those who place the frequent interest above their ego, as onerous as it may be. I am much inspired by people who attempt to see the most effective in me and focus on it when dealing with me. If they see me with flying colors from day one, assuming that I always give one of the best of me, that drives me to live up to the nice picture that they already have of me and my reputation. In school I met many other storytellers­­­­—lecturers, coaches, and fellow college students whose tales taught me useful lessons and enabled me to share tales of my very own. My stories took form through my involvement with theatre. I even have realized that telling tales could be just as highly effective as hearing them.
